Handmade Flowers
Handmade Flowers are certainly a trend in crafting of all kinds. I think the beautiful Prima flowers really whipped up the flower frenzy I'm seeing now on layouts and cards. They are so lush, colorful and imaginative. You just want them all and then you think "Hmmm...maybe I can make that..." and the clever among us set off to experiment. Not only are they clever they are generous too. There are so many great tutorials out there showing how we too can make paper and fabric bloom.
Here are some I'd love to try:
Water Distressed flowers #1: A great look (picture above) that seems easy and fun.
Water Distressed flower #2: How beautiful is this?
These are both by Gabrielle Pollacco. She is one of my favorite designers. I've added a link to her blog on the right in my link section. Her work is so delicious and detailed. I've scraplifted at least two of her LOs. I'll post them another day. Hey, it will give me something else to blog about right?
Stamped Flowers: Simple and pretty, the tutorial doesn't provide in-depth directions but the items themselves are not complex. The value here is the pretty colors and stamping ideas.
Quilled Roses: I've never been a big fan of quilling. I've always associated it with sort of "folksy" type crafts and tole painting in very dark colors, but these are beautiful. I don't think these look particularly easy. Maybe for something very special? Once again, the tutorial is the work of Gabrielle Pollacco.
And finally for today (because goodness it is late) a Distressed Rose tutorial from My Paper Pantry (also going into my links section). These are made with hearts cut on the Cricut. The tutorial is very detailed and it really gave me the sense I could do it.
Ok, that's all for tonight!
