Thanksgiving Blog Hop
Welcome to my first ever blog hop! The theme is "Thankful for Family, Friends, Freedom, and Food" and we are all doing a post about a project today and tomorrow. This layout covers family and food.
The people in the picture are my parents, probably about 1958 and I'm pretty sure they are sitting at my grandmother's Thanksgiving table in Otsego, Ohio. That's where my father grew up. Its a happy picture and I was delighted to discover it.
I used my Expression and the Walk In My Garden cart to help make the three-dimensional flowers.
I also made my first ever custom-designed cut: I used Calligraphy Collection to create the cattails. I discovered and used the "hide contour" feature in Design Studio. It worked great and I'm fairly happy with the results.
I think my favorite item on this layout is the miniature version of the music for "Over the River and Through the Woods." We literally did go over rivers and around hills to grandma's house half-way up a wooded mountain in Southern Ohio for Thanksgiving dinner.
